Toronto Information

We have compiled some information that may be useful to visitors to our fair city.

If you are coming into Toronto for one of our trips, you will probably need a place to stay for the night before the trip since we leave early the next morning, and also a place on the last day, since we don't get back to Toronto until about 7pm.

Here are some of the hotels that we can recommend. They are all close to the subway system, are near to all the main tourist sites in Toronto, and are easy to get to from Toronto International Airport (Pearson) by either bus or taxi. They range from hostel to 4 star rating.

Ask the hotel if they have a Room Sale on as, quite often, their sell off rates will be lower than the advertised rates or our corporate rates. Depends on the time of year and how busy they are.

Travel time to Algonquin Park from Toronto is about 3.5 hours. It is about 5 hours to drive to Killarney Park.

Meeting Spots

These are our general rendezvous points. If you intend to meet us up north please verify the location with us before the trip. Depending on our destination we sometimes will meet at a more convenient spot.

Summer: If you requested transportation we will meet you at 8:30am at the "Passenger Pick-Up" exit of Finch Subway station. If you are driving yourself up we will meet you at Algonquin Outfitters at 11:45am (for Algonquin based trips), or at the Bell Lake access at 1:30pm (for Killarney 4 day trips). Algonquin Outfitters is just off of Highway 60 (north side), in the hamlet of Oxtongue Lake, and is about 15km west of the Park border. The Bell Lake access road is on the north side of county road #637, before you hit the Killarney Park border.

Winter: If you requested transportation we will meet you at 8:30am at the "Passenger Pick-Up" exit of Finch Subway station. If you are driving yourself up we will meet you at the parking lot of the Algonquin Wilderness Eco-Lodge (on the southern tip of Algonquin Park). Please print out this Map to help you find the Eco-Lodge.

Finch Subway Station is the last stop on the north bound Yonge St. line. If you are driving it is on Hendon Ave. (1 block north of Finch St., on the west side of Yonge) - there is underground parking in the area.
