This trip is for the more adventurous tourist. It is a 4 day adventure that includes 3 days of dog sledding, and 1 day of snowshoeing. Your first night will be spent at the cozy and rustic Algonquin Eco-Lodge, to let you get acclimatized to the Algonquin winter, and get an overview of your next few nights of dog sledding and camping. The next 2 nights you will spend in a heated prospector tent deep in the forests of Algonquin Park.
Here is a short video clip to show you what the dog sledding is all about!

Upon your arrival at the Eco-Lodge you will be taken on a guided snowshoe hike. In the deep snow this is the only way to get around. It is quite often necessary to pack a snowshoe trail before even snowmobiles or dogsleds can follow. In the evening you are free to enjoy the comforts of the outdoor hot tub and sauna, and perhaps even try a polar bear dip!
The next 3 days will be spent dog sledding. As a team of 2 adventurers pulled by a 6 huskies you will travel 30-40 km each day through Algonquin Park. At the end of the day you will return to your base camp set up in the woods. Here you will collect firewood, get water for the dogs, and feed them. Later you can relax in your heated prospector tent, or go for night snowshoe hike to admire the countless stars, or try your luck with a wolf howl.

Read this famous poem by Robert Service to really get into the spirit of the adventure! Don't worry, the conditions aren't as harsh!
